reclaiming our democracy

Big money and special interest contributions unduly influence our state’s election process and legislative policies. This violates the rights of all Iowans to equal and meaningful participation in the democratic process.

Voter-Owned Iowa aims to decrease the influence of money in politics and restore public confidence in our government. In order to achieve this goal, Voter-Owned Iowa will work to educate the public and involve more people in the political process. Voter-Owned Elections is campaign finance reform that will restore meaning to voting and political activism.

The mission of Voter-Owned Iowa is to empower and unite grassroots Iowans to address the corrupting influence of big money on our democracy; balance the political playing field to give all people access to the political process; and return democracy to the hands of the people.
